English Grammar: The Present Tense

1. Simple Present Tense

Used for habits, daily routines, and universal truths.

Structure: Subject + V1 (s/es) + Object
  • Example: He writes daily to improve his skills.
  • Example: The sun rises in the east.

2. Present Continuous Tense

Used for actions happening exactly at the time of speaking.

Structure: Subject + is/am/are + V1 + ing + Object
  • Example: I am studying English grammar now.
  • Example: They are practicing their handwriting.

3. Present Perfect Tense

Used for actions completed in the past that have importance now.

Structure: Subject + has/have + V3 + Object
  • Example: I have finished my lesson.
  • Example: She has already called her niece.

4. Present Perfect Continuous

Used for actions that started in the past and are still continuing.

Structure: Subject + has/have + been + V1 + ing + Object
  • Example: It has been raining since morning.
